It’s important that before you install the Smartlink Product Designer you’ve read through this short guide. Providing you have all the details it requests ready you should be good to go.
Permalinks
Before you start to do anything, please visit the WordPress Permalinks (Admin->Settings->Permalinks) and ensure that your site uses ‘pretty permalinks’. Any other choice besides ‘Plain’ or default will do. Select one and save the permalinks.
Caching
You will not be able to use ‘caching’ on the WooCommerce Single Product page. If your site uses any WordPress page caching plugins, or perhaps caching mechanisms employed by your hosting service, they will need to be deactivated for the WooCommerce Single Product page. Anything that begins with:
Please disable caching for all product pages. Otherwise, your customers will not be able to add products to the Cart with an error of `rest_cookie_invalid_nonce`.
Account Details
- CPP / OMS Username & Password
- GUID
- API Key
If you do not have these, please contact your account representative.
Smartlink Product Designer
Your account representative should provide you with a copy of the Smartlink Product Designer plugin and an activation Licence API key. Please have these ready.
Suppliers
Make sure you’ve spoken to the suppliers in the dropship network and have agreed what products you’re going to be selling. Your products should be setup in your CPP / OMS.
Payment Gateways
Have a look at the available payment gateways for WooCommerce, decide who you’re going to use and have the plugin purchased and downloaded. PayPal is part of WooCommerce by default and we do highly recommend Stripe. Please make sure you have accounts with these gateways before you begin.
Shipping Details
Speak to your account representative and discuss how you’re going to ship your products. They should provide you with a method & carrier code for each shipping method you’re going to use. It’s important to consider if you’re going to ship internationally or not as this will also need setting up.
